Mentha Lamiaceae Spreads aggressively – plant it in a pot or behind a root barrier. Miltonia Orchidaceae New leaves crinkling like an accordion signal dry air – raise the humidity. Miltoniopsis Orchidaceae The pansy orchid likes it cooler and evenly moist; heat stresses it. Monarda Lamiaceae Prone to powdery mildew – space plants for airflow and water in dry summers. Monstera Araceae On a moss pole it grows larger, more fenestrated leaves; toxic to pets. Murraya Rutaceae Its fragrant white flowers are followed by red berries; water with lime-free water. Musa Musaceae Water daily and feed weekly in summer; cold wind shreds the big leaves. Muscari Asparagaceae Its leaves appear already in autumn – that's normal, don't cut them off. Myosotis Boraginaceae A biennial – let it set seed after flowering and it returns by itself next year. Myrtillocactus Cactaceae Keep it above 8 °C in winter or the blue stems develop brown spots. Myrtus Myrtaceae Use lime-free water and never let it dry out – a dry rootball causes leaf drop.
