Jade plant
Crassula ovata
A mini desert of stones and sand
An open bowl, dry air and lots of light – the easiest composition for beginners.
If the vessel has no hole, start with 2–3 cm of coarse gravel.
Mix cactus soil 1:1 with pumice or akadama.
Place larger stones – they create the rocky look.
Plant succulents with tweezers; keep the root collar dry.
Top-dress with gravel or sand and wait 3–5 days before the first watering.
Crassula ovata
Haworthiopsis fasciata
Copes with less light.
Gasteria bicolor
Echeveria elegans
Sempervivum tectorum
Graptopetalum paraguayense
Sedum morganianum
Lithops
Almost dry in summer and winter!
Mammillaria gracilis
