Mediolobivia pygmaea var. eos is a small mountain cactus with globular stems that may produce offsets over time. The stems bear small tubercles and short spines. Its funnel-shaped flowers are typical of the Mediolobivia group and are often brightly coloured. Collection RH 535b originates near Tafna in the Argentine Andes at approximately 3,600 m elevation.
