In the grower’s words
Denmoza rhodacantha is a slow-growing cactus that remains globular when young and becomes columnar with age. Its dark-green stem has numerous ribs bearing strong, sharp spines. The form known as diamantina is especially notable for its ivory-colored to yellowish spines. Older plants may also develop long, whitish, bristle-like spines. Its tubular flowers are red to pinkish and emerge near the upper part of the stem.
